What We Can Give You/Our Services

As we are in the field of commercial dairy farming for the past 14 years, based on tried and tested methods and principles done at our farm to produce top quality milk, we can supply many basic and professional services to existing farmers and also to those interested in setting up commercial dairy farm. We can provide proven know-how in design, technology, equipments etc, which are the basis for establishing or upgrading dairy farms.

1. PLANNING AND ENGINEERING

Much attention is given to the site selection, design and establishment of the production environment adapted to the needs of cows and farmers. The stall design should meet optimal environmental conditions to high yielding cows in order to enable full potential milk production. Reducing the “heat stress” on the cow, with active evaporative cooling systems and well designed animal housing structures have an enormous positive impact on the production level (milk yield). There are different government agencies which support the dairy farms with subsidies and grants for the automation, waste management in the dairy sector.

2. FARM MANAGEMENT

In the breed selection the Holstein Friesian black & white cow is recognized as the most efficient milk producer in respect of total yearly milk-production in liters, fat and protein per kg. It is essential to provide the animal a constant and well-balanced feed ration, which provides all her requirements throughout the year so that the animal can efficiently produce milk. The larger production units operate at lower costs and can implement more advanced technologies and systems, which are out of the reach of small farmers. A computer based farm management systems and dairy automation equipment helps the farm to have a close control on many production variables. This enables the farmer to get the optimal performance of each individual cow.

3. QUALITY MILK PRODUCTION

The production of high quality milk will be the key to survival of the commercial dairy farm and indeed, the entire dairy Industry. Quality of the milk should be assessed on the basis of total bacterial count, somatic cell count, freezing point, protein etc. To improve the quality, the milk should be stored in insulated tanks after milking in a milking parlour and instantly chilling to 2-3 degree C. Cost-efficient production of high quality milk is the first indispensable step towards the survival of dairy farm. This is achieved by using equipments and machines which are suitable in Indian conditions. Consistently strict observance of good milking procedures and hygienic cleaning operations will conduce to better milk quality, and ensure best payment for the milk produced. There are different government agencies which support the dairy farms with subsidies and grants for the automation in the dairy sector.

4. WASTE MANAGEMENT

Effective waste utilization so as to achieve “zero waste” condition is achieved. This is achieved by the construction of bio-gas plant and bio-manure unit. The by-products; power generation and bio-fertilizer, enables the farm a secondary revenue generation which intern increases profitability of the farm. There are different government agencies which support the dairy farms with subsidies and grants for the implementation of this.

5. MARKETING

Nanma Dairy Marketing constituted in 2003 has the prime objective to find effective and efficient marketing systems to help dairy farms so as to get best price for the quality milk they produce. Nanma ensure the quality of milk based on total bacterial count, somatic cell count, freezing point, protein etc and gives best payment for the high quality milk produced in farms. To perform effective and efficient milk marketing so that the farmer gets the best price for their milk, innovative marketing techniques like vending systems are developed. Also NANMA takes up the marketing of the by-products of the farms so that the farms can invest their time and effort on the maximum productive output.
